I'm about to do some JoJo Theory Ball Busting

The "Oh Anasui only looks like a girl in the first few chapters then is referred to as a guy for the rest of the manga bec Araki's editors said no gaaay alowed" is so blantly incorrect and transphobic that it actively makes me uncomfortable and here's why

(using he/they for canon sake):

The claim that "araki's editors forced him to change anasui's gender so there wouldn't be too many girls" is a BOLD claim for a manga with a FEMALE protagonist that takes place in a FEMALE PRISON WARD.

"Oh well they didn't want the character to be gay so-" there are several canon gay charcters in jojo (not the best rep) but what the do you call Sherbert and Gelotto?Squalo and Tiziano? Homophobia didn't stop them from writing charcters befor.

Both of those claims above have never been sourced in any way. There is absolutely no proof besides fan speculation. Not from Araki. not from his editors not anyone else on his team. On top of it The idea that a Manga JUGGERNAUT like Araki. Who has been writing manga since 1981. With a series of beloved best sellers would get shit from his editor is... well its wild. Like they let this man add the kkk and nazis to his manga. You think they'd stop him from adding women?

The theory that anasui changed to "stay in Emporios room unnoticed" is well? Possible I guess?? but still feels questionable when Weather Report is litteraly right there with zero disguise. And the fact that other than stand users no one else has been show interacting with Emporios room.

The theory that he did it to " sneak in and creep up on Jolyne" is not even worth arguing. But for the sake of the post, I'll give it the same answer as before 1) why would he need to sneak into a place no one knows about and where he's just sitting out in the open and 2) he was in emporios room long befor he met Joleyn and for much of their early interaction was disinterested and distanced from her. If araki wanted to show him stalking her he would have.

We ACTUALLY have a CANON reason for Anasui's gender expression from a direct sorceable Quote from Araki- which states- that Anasui was formed from arakis need to "portray a character with an androgynous image that went beyond the standard definition of genders." I don't know about you but that sounds like straight up genderfluidify to me.

As a character it's entirely believable that Anasui would rearrange his appearance at will, inexchangably. It's something that ties into both his obsession with taking apart things and also his stand and its abilities. One other perfectly reasonable answer- is because he wants to. That's it. Because he just feels like it. He's genderfluid and he can drink potion of "change you gender" any time he wants.

Hes not even the only trans person we see in part 6. Sure they were taken out of the anime but it's still in the manga. There's no way araki forgot anasui AND the other trans character. Especially when both are seen direclty interacting with joleyn in romantic/flirtatious situations. (i.e. Anasuis romantic gesture twords Jolyne. And jolyne blushing when seeing a trans man in the female ward.)

In conclusion: 'Anasui was supposed to be a girl theorys' are poorly backed and misinformation at best. There's no proof of it. In fact there's opposite proof by araki himslef. In canon Anasuis gender expression may be closer to a trans nonbinary or gendefluid person. That's it. Peace and love.✌🏼

So I just wanted to give a big Thank You to my 118 followers and everyone who is sending in questions! I enjoy trying to find solutions for each and every one, and you’re helping me create an archive to help possibly tons of people! For the Anons who asked for help with Gyro and Anasui: I have not forgotten or been avoiding them. I did them myself, so I am providing a lot more in depth information.. Especially for Anasui, whose shirt is one of the most complicated things I’ve ever done ( and whose tutorial I have lost twice due to computer issues). They are coming, never fear, I’ve just been filling the easier asks while I’m working on them

Do you have any jolyne wedding/marriage headcanons?

…I might have a couple ;3

- Ghost

Wedding

·        The idea of getting married to her S/O wouldhave originally been mentioned in passing or jokingly brought up by Hermes orherself, but when she really thinks about it the thought of being married tothem doesn’t seem like such a bad life – this even gets to the point where she’llbe going through every day and something will make her think ‘hey, that’ll lookgreat for a wedding’ maybe passing by a florist or a confectionary or tailor shop

·        This will go one for a while, but as thethoughts grow more and more complex what started as small idea actually startsto come to fruition and before she knows it she’s picked an engagement ring andplanning all of the possible ways to propose to S/O

·        Regardless of these plans however she’ll end upsimply blurting it out to them without thinking, and for a moment she’s leftwith silence before she’s practically taken down by her partner, with themsobbing with joy as they tell her yes and cling to her for dear life and thisalone makes her feel like she’s on cloud nine

·        The moment she tells the others about theengagement they’re all going to be on board to help with the wedding plans,just as excited for the big day as she is (except for Anasui who’s sobbingin the corner but let’s pay no mind to him)

·        Jolyne would either rock a slim fit wedding dressthat isn’t too showy and at least resembles her typical attire in some way or tryher luck with an altered tuxedo with the butterfly dagger picture embroidedinto the back or chest of the coat – either way she’s going to look stunningand this is only enhanced by her confidence of wearing either outfit

·        The wedding itself is going to be keptsimple since she doesn’t want anything too extravagant or complicated, just herfriends and a couple family members are enough for the two of them

·        Hermes and Foo Fighters are going to be thebridesmaids, Emporio’s going to be the ring bearer and (although it’s going totake a lot of convincing fromeveryone else) Weather Report and Anasui are going to be the best man (men?)

·        Jotaro is going to be flabbergasted whenJolyne asks if he could be the one to walk her down the aisle but he’ll acceptnone the less and it’s going to be a heart-warming scene for everyone presentat the wedding especially S/O – they know how big of a moment this is for her(even if Jotaro doesn’t really know how to act in said situation he’s glad tobe given the opportunity)

·        Jolyne’s vows are simple but honest, she isn’tbeating around the bush and is going to be upfront with her feelings towardsthem, and she feels a red hue flash across her face as she hears her partnersown vows to her; you can bet the moment she hears the words ‘you may now kissthe bride/groom’ she’s sweeping S/O off of their feet and into a kiss that’snothing short of breath-taking as the building erupts into applause and cheers

·        When it comes time to throw the bouquet theamount of force she put into the toss was probably a little more than expected –and by unexpected I mean it completely sailed over the crowd of eager onlookersand instead took out poor Josuke (and his pomp) and sent him back into the nearbyfountain, and off to the side Giorno’s going to be at least a little amused bythis (and glad that he wasn’t standing next to the pompadour boy given thespray of water which erupted as he fell back and completely soaked Okuyasu andKoichi)

Marriage

·        The fact that she’s now married to her S/O isn’tgoing to truly sink in until a few days into their honeymoon, the two are insuch a blissful state that they focus more on the moments as they happen

·        The location of choice is more than likely goingto be somewhere tropical, the warm weather mixed with the exotic scenery makingtheir experience all the more memorable and giving them an array of activitiesto do as a couple

·        The rest of the group are probably going to beinvited over a short time later so that they can all relax and enjoythemselves, both Jolyne and S/O agreed it wouldn’t feel right if the othersweren’t there to brighten up the place

·        Often times S/O will catch her looking down ather ring finger, eyes showing a notable fondness as she gazes down at thesymbol of their union gleaming back up at her; but if they call her out on thisshe’ll become flustered at being caught and try to change the subject

·        Hours spent cuddling in bed are a must, Jolyneis stubborn waking up in the morning and this is more prominent now that they’remarried; if S/O even tries to move or get up they’re getting dragged back downand held a lot tighter than before to ensure they aren’t going anywhere on herwatch

·        Jolyne’s tried to make them breakfast in bed atleast once but the results aren’t always…edible even if the food itself looksdeceptively delicious so it’s going to be a gamble to know whether they’re gettingsurprise food poisoning first thing in the morning or not
